Job Description


Tony DePaul & Son is currently seeking an experienced, success oriented, self-motivated Senior Heavy / Highway Construction Estimator to lead our team of Estimators.  




The qualified candidate shall provide direct support to various projects which includes resolving issues, managing resources, project coordination, interfacing with all levels of project representatives regarding the project’s progress, and oversight of project accounting to safely, efficiently, successfully, and profitably complete assigned construction projects.



Primary responsibilities include:


  • Coordinate and assign work to Estimators.
  • Manage the Estimating process, including but not limited to:
    • Take-Off, Proposals/bids,
    • Communication with staff, management, vendors, and agencies,
    • Serve as a point of contact, establishing, maintaining and managing expectations regarding overall department performance
    • Manage the status of all projects
  • Report project status and performance data to appropriate parties
  • Plan, monitor and contract the projects throughout lifecycle
  • Ensure that projects reporting is done timely
  • Review schedules for jobs and coordinate with subcontractors
  • Attend job meetings including pre-construction, project, staff meetings
  • Notify responsible parties of any change or deviation of original work
  • Demonstrate appropriate people skills to facilitate smooth operation of the project
  • Maintain thorough, organized and legible job files

Job Requirements


Qualifications and Skills


  • Prefer a minimum of 7 years’ experience successfully estimating and managing DOT and/or heavy/highway/civil projects
  • Prior management experience
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook and all forms of relevant software
  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills to improve overall organization efficiency
  • Understanding of construction language, materials and methods and ability to communicate effectively within the construction environment
  • Knowledge of HCSS, Expedition a plus.
