Summary of Responsibility:

This position is responsible for working accounts receivable in a timely manner to ensure that payments are received as close as possible to the date that the service was provided. Position includes posting payments, filing appeals, monitoring and correcting appealed and/or re-billed accounts. Responds to incoming calls, emails and faxes related to claims status and outstanding balances.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:High school diploma or equivalent and/or 5+ years revenue cycle function experience

Experience:1+ years’ with 3 preferable experience in Revenue Cycle, Commercial Insurance and/or Workers’ Compensation in a high-production environment.

Skills:Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, organizational and detailed oriented, ability to meet deadlines, function independently, as a member of a team. Must possess efficient time management and presentation skills, and the ability to manage large volumes of data and be proactive in minimizing data quality defects.

Experience:Prefer Experience with outpatient healthcare services. Working knowledge of Microsoft excel, word and ability to adapt to company’s standard software programs. Working knowledge of Commercial insurance and/or Workers’ Compensation processes and Remittance Advices. Ability to examine processes, policies, and problems and offer solutions.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Expectations - Meet accounts receivable operational standards for productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolves problems; identifies and assists in implementing system and process improvements.
  2. Communication - Ability to effectively communicate with others within the business office, at provider offices as well as outside contacts (case managers, adjusters, payers, vendors, physicians, etc.)
  3. Confidentiality - Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  4. Knowledge-base - Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  5. Other - Other duties as related and/or assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Office environment, 40 hour work week (M-F, 8 hour shifts, 30 min lunch). Minimal physical activity required, may occasionally lift supply items up to 20 lbs. Frequent computer use, prolonged sitting.
