Job Description

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

The Quality Inspector / Facility Support located in Kingsbury, IN reports to our Production Supervisor and is responsible for inspect incoming parts, parts in process and finished goods to assure conformance to quality control requirements as established by the company's Engineering Department or Factory Management.

A successful candidate will:

  • Inspect incoming parts to print and specification using a variety of test devices and measuring instruments.
  • Inspect first piece, and randomly sample shop production operations, for conformance with current Engineering drawings and other quality standards.
  • Inspect painted parts or product for quality of workmanship and conformance to standard or special parts list data.
  • Maintain quality records on shipping, receiving and production line audits.
  • Periodically inspect in-process work according to routing and sampling instructions as prescribed.
  • Advise department supervisor and/or leader of unacceptable parts or finished product. Suggest corrective measures.
  • Supply Corporate Quality Assurance with "scrap" and other data as required.
  • Maintain gage records and schedules calibration of gages and instruments as required,
  • Work with Finishing Line Leader and/ or Production Supervisor on process improvements.
  • Reviews DMRs on finished product from receiving plants. Provide formal corrective action replies to receiving plants, after review with Production Supervisor and Operations Manager.
  • Provide shipping and receiving support, as needed.
  • Provide production support as a flexible paint operator, as needed.
  • Drives fork truck or uses other material handling equipment, as needed.

Job Requirements

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • Must have a good working knowledge in using prints, instruments, gages and part standards for Painting Operation.
  • Know Engineering requirements and simple sampling techniques.
  • Must be experienced in a variety of parts.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Suites.
