Job Description


The Territory Manager reports to our Regional Sales Manager and is responsible for calling on customers to explain and demonstrate technical and commercial advantages of Dwyer Instruments. The Territory Manager should demonstrate ability to continually provide sales prospect opportunities that lead to eventual sales closure. Sales closures and prospects are consistent with corporate sales qualifiers and objectives.


A successful candidate will:

  • Make direct calls on major OEM customers, consulting engineers, large consumer accounts, and other sales prospects to maximize sales growth in his/her territory, and achieve sales qualifier objectives and goals.
  • Report on acceptance of Dwyer products in the field, recommends modifications to old products and development of new products based on field observations and status of competition encounter.
  • Demonstrate consistent urgency to accomplish organizational objectives both internally and externally to the company.
  • Establish and develop qualified distributors in his/her territory, particularly in outlying and remote areas, satisfying corporate goals for vertical market coverage.
  • Prepare and present technical programs to small interested groups as required.
  • Demonstrate on-time reporting, calling on the decision maker, an effective weekly call schedule, proper follow up, and lead generation for the company and his/her territory.
  • Adhere to company expense policy and guidelines established by Sales Manager of the Americas. Utilizes avenues such as discount internet websites and advance planning purchases to reduced field sales expenses.
  • Develop solutions for issues that may cause problem or constraints among internal and external customers.


  • This position will require 60% of travel.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with ME or EE preferred.
  • Extensive experience selling instrumentation and sensors.
  • Experience working in the HVAC and/or BAS industries.
  • Technical understanding of Dwyer Instruments to convey that understanding to others.
