Being a Memory Maker as a Cluster Finance Manager

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Finance in Radisson Blu Edwardian Grafton

  • To provide analytical support to the Senior Central Hotel Controller, to assist in all aspects of financial accounting and reporting ensuring the correct recording of all costs and revenues and maintaining a complete set of records to comply with both internal and statutory reporting requirements



    Duties and Responsibilities

     

    Provides Work Direction to:%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B Operations Controller, Assistant Operations Controller and Storeperson

    Works closely with Revenue. Finance and operations departments

    External Relationships :Auditors and Tax and legal advisors

    Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in accordance with corporate guidelines

    Provide meaningful and timely revenue and cost analysis to drive the financial performance of the unit

    Prepare, document and maintain monthly journal entries and audit trail data

    Review monthly activity and advise on policies and processes where necessary

    Ensure revenues and costs for each business unit have been allocated correctly, and ensure integrity with financial systems

    Provide first line support for financial systems problems

    Maintain monthly reconciliations both for balance sheet and profit and loss accounts

    Provide management information, as requested, to unit heads and the Business Operations teams in the month end, budgeting and planning process

    Prepare monthly reporting and year end packs with an explanation of key variances

    Manage a cluster finance team to ensure team objectives are met providing work supervision and direction as required

    Develop the team carrying out regular appraisals meeting training needs as appropriate

    Contribute to the leadership of the Finance team by developing and training personnel

    Plan best use of accounting resources to improve the day-to-day management of the business, introducing best practice and innovative thinking

    Ad hoc project work

Key Requirements

 

Key Requirements

Firm understanding of accounting concepts and experience with accounting information systems

Accounting Qualified / Qualified by experience with at least 3 years of experience within hospitality

Excellent communication skills (verbal  and written) and ability to liaise effectively with non-financial staff and senior management

Proven analytical skills

Able to organise and prioritise own workload, meet strict deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team

Team player with outstanding inter-personal, negotiation and organisational skills

Client focused approach to work

IT literate and well experienced with Microsoft suite of products

Prior experience in managing a team in different locations
