Being a Memory Maker as a Financial Controller

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Finance in Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow

To safeguard and grow the value of the hotel asset by serving as a business partner, consulting on ways to maximize financial results and directing the finance department



Key Requirements

 

  • Graduate, part-qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant, with a minimum of five years financial management experience in the hotel or service sector Ability to maintain high standards of work and accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Client focused approach to work.
  • A record of demonstrable personal achievement with proven management skills.
  • Ability to manage large, complex projects and develop cross-functional support.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to liaise effectively with non-financial staff.
  • Team player with outstanding inter-personal, negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Client focused approach to work.
  • IT literate with experience of ERP systems, accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Develops and implements accounting and finance strategies that support achievement of the hotel's goals
  • Monitors status regularly and provides the hotel team with feedback as appropriate.
  • Develops the annual budget in conjunction with the Hotel and Senior Management Team.
  • Ensure compliance to group purchasing strategy in order to achieve hotel cost objectives.
  • Reviews and analyzes business strategies throughout the hotel to ensure alignment with the hotel's financial objectives
  • Consults with hotel team on strategies to optimize financial results
  • Counsels hotel teams on ways to maximize profits and cash flow analyzes actual practices and data and suggests alternative strategies for managing their business
  • Provides hotel team and senior management team with reports that can be used as a basis for improved decision making.
  • Develops annual operating budget by working with hotel team analyzes budget variances and recommends strategies for improvement
  • Supports the operation of the hotel by overseeing the purchasing function
  • Develops and implements financial strategies and accounting practices and performs a variety of control functions
  • Works with ELMS Accounting in the resolution of accounting issues at the hotel and in the preparation of hotel profit loss statement and reports
  • Ensures that accounting practices adhere to legal requirements and Radisson Blu Edwardian standards.
  • Aligns practices with internal and external audit recommendations
  • Articulates policies and audits compliance of cash and stocks handling.
  • Ensures that payroll, sales ledger, revenue, and food and beverage control functions and responsibilities are all carried out on a timely manner and in accordance with the Radisson Blu Edwardian policies, standards and procedures.
  • Develops and implements strategies and practices which support engagement of the finance team.
  • Recruits and selects qualified candidates
  • Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities
  • Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback
  • Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential
  • Drives employee engagement through the creation and implementation of departmental action plans
  • Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson Blu experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations. Provides employees with the training and resources they need to maximize employee engagement and deliver Yes I Can service and teamwork
  • Communicates and reinforces the vision for Yes I Can service to employees
  • Ensures that employees provide Yes I Can genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
  • Provides Yes I Can genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
  • Seeks opportunities to improve the customer experience by seeking customer feedback and reviewing management reports and developing strategies to improve department and hotel services
  • Provides employees with the tools, training and environment they need to deliver Yes I Can service and teamwork
