Being a Memory Maker as a Group ER Manager

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Human Resources in The May Fair

The ER Manager plays a crucial role in developing the organisation in order to achieve developing long-term value-adding ER activities.

Working with the General Manager of Human Resources the role will provide a strategic overview of employee relations (ER) across the properties and:

  • Analyse and interpret people related metrics to identify trends and play a critical role in the improvement of ER policies and processes, management development activities and employee engagement.
  • Develop and where required deliver learning and talent development interventions to managers, employees and Edwardian colleagues on ER related topics.
  • Provide expert specialist ER expertise and guidance on local and Group-wide key people-related initiatives and change programmes, ensuring they are fit for purpose, fulfil our legal obligations and add value to Edwardian Hotels.
  • Overseeing and where necessary leading on complex ER cases.

Key Requirements

 

  • CIPD qualified or significant experience in an employee relations role
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience
  • Excellent demonstrable knowledge of current employment legislation and best practice in ER policies, principles and procedures.
  • Significant demonstrable experience of advising a range of stakeholders on a broad range of ER issues balancing legal compliance with business need and developing practical value-adding solutions.
  • Experience of managing multiple complex ER cases from a strategic perspective.
  • Demonstrable experience of advising on and working collaboratively with stakeholders on organisational change initiatives and projects including redundancy.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to analyse information effectively identifying the causes of problems and proposing realistic and practical solutions to address them based on knowledge and understanding of an organisation and its operating environment.
  • Exceptional listening and questioning skills that enable empower and get to the heart of the issue.
  • Evidence of having a positive impact on an organisation, achieved through excellent influencing skills.
  • Can demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and can lead through empowerment, delegation and coaching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills engaging effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver multiple concurrent activities within agreed deadlines and to agreed standards with consistent attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, communicate and deliver against personal and team objectives and work plans.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and coach, challenge and influence to ensure effective ER solutions, balancing risk and commerciality and resolve conflict where necessary.
  • A demonstrable awareness of the added value volunteers can bring to the delivery of an organisations mission
  • Confident and competent in using Microsoft Office and proficient enough to adapt to the use of other IT software
