Being a Memory Maker as a Group H and S Officer

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Health and Safety in Radisson Blu Edwardian Bloomsbury Street



The main function of the Health and Safety Officer is to assist the Group H&S Manager on the implementation of the HSMS and provide advice, guidance and support to the Service Excellence team on the implementation of the Food Safety Management System.

 

  • Organise and co-ordinate health and safety/food safety training across the group to meet legal and company requirements;
  • Carry out accident investigations where required, collecting information from hotel teams and assisting the Group H&S Manager in the collection of evidence for external bodies;
  • Assist the Group H&S Manager in carrying out inspections and monitoring of compliance in the hotels; write up reports and distribute to hotels; check that hotel teams have followed up on necessary actions
  • To assist Heads of Department in the management of COSHH and ensuring they have a list of approved substances, safety data sheets and COSHH assessments for hazardous substances within their departments;
  • Carry out first aid assessments and work with hotel teams to ensure adequate numbers of first aiders are available;
  • Carry out DSE assessments for employees with a high risk rating on Safety Media DSE checklists;
  • Oversee the review of risk assessments with HODs, and providing assistance to those that require more technical input;
  • Provide assistance to the Food and Beverage teams on allegations of food poisoning or food contamination;
  • Monitor the production of allergen matrices by Service Excellence and carry out random checks to ensure information is correct and available to hotels;
  • Update the Food Safety Management System on an annual basis and advise Food and Beverage teams of any amendments to procedures.

 

 

Key Requirements

 

 

  • Experience with various arms of Health and Safety Implementation including accident investigation and follow up, COSHH, Working at Height, DSE.
  • Familiarity with industry guidance notes and codes of recommended good practice relating to food premises.
  • Proven experience in implementing food safety management systems, application of HACCP principles.
  • Ability to work towards delivering expectations on the annual company Health and Safety plan.
  • Previous experience with inspections and reporting to different levels of management.
  • Ability to develop and deliver in house H&S training.
  • Strong IT skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

 

Qualifications

  • H&S qualification including NEBOSH General/Fire Certificate or equivalent (e.g. NCRQ).
  • Food Safety qualifications including Certificates in Food Premises Inspection and Food Control or equivalent.
  • Relevant Training delivery qualification eg PTLLS Level 3
