Being a Memory Maker as a Meetings & Events Office Manager

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Meeting & Events Sales in The May Fair

Essential Functions

  • To achieve hotel revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals by developing and implementing strategies to increase hotel M & E Sales
  • To maximize M & E sales by professional and efficient handling of bookings from the initial enquiry through to the completion and follow up of each function.
  • This should involve exceeding the customers expectation on every occasion ensuring that we become the preferred venue for our new, existing and past clients and booking agents.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the EHL experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.
  • Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
  • Provides Yes I Can Genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
  • Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction
  • Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotels, which are aligned with EHL overall mission, vision, values and strategies.
  • Develops and implements marketing and sales strategies that support achievement of the hotels goals.
  • Daily commercial management of the meetings events diary to ensure high yield management at all times.
  • Management and leadership of the Diary Team
  • Daily management of the generic email in-box of the meetings  events department and correct allocation of activities to the team.
  • Ensures a 1-hour turnaround time for the answering of a customers enquiry.
  • Manage Third Party websites. Ensure all enquiries are responded to promptly.
  • Daily management of the client chases and activities ensuring that the hotel meetings and events inventory is up to date at all times.
  • Competitor analysis.
  • Develops sales strategies designed to maximize revenue and yield and participates in the development of yield management strategies for the hotel.
  • Ensures all materials used to market the hotel are in accordance with brand standards.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve the customer experience by seeking customer feedback and reviewing management reports and developing strategies to improve department and hotel services.
  • Extremely high visibility of meetings and events on-property sales to gain maximum conversion.
  • Provides employees with the tools, training and environment they need to deliver exceptional service and teamwork.
  • Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement
  • Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities
  • Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behaviour and genuine hospitality
  • Maximise rooms, meetings and events revenue and profit through effective diary management.
  • To be pro-active in getting new sales/enquires and contacting past bookers.
  • Update demand calendar (Smart Space) ensuring this updated on a regular basis.
  • Analysing LOST enquires.
  • Review and control daily pick up and daily availability.
  • Rota management of the office
  • Respond to Email and Phone Enquiries coming through to Meetings and Events office.
  • Training and  developing the team.
  • Create daily, weekly, monthly reports with relevant date and analysis of trends and pace.
  • Participate in weekly critical bookings meeting, monthly revenue, and Sales meeting.
  • Attend daily HOD meeting in absence of HOD.
  • Coach the develop Meetings and Events Team.
  • Ensure Standard operating procedures are adhered to, to ensure a consistent level of service.
  • Develop and Monitor Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Requirements


The Requirements

  • Understands the strategic positioning of all group hotels and the company within the competitive market
  • Understands the tools of financial management and uses them to predict and affect the hotels position
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and IT applications: Opera, My Hr World
  • Local area knowledge, including local competition in the restaurant sector
  • Product knowledge
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Knowledge of Radisson Blu Edwardian systems and procedures
  • Be aware of latest products in the market
  • Confidence and the ability to communicate and establish rapport
  • Managerial skills-including the ability to foster teamwork and communicate effectively
  • Decision Making: Improve decision making by clarifying and setting goals, sharing perspectives on reality, identifying options and creating consensus on a way forward.
  • Organization: Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manage resources.
  • Is able to develop and guide others in professional growth and performance enhancement through assuring clarity of goals, employing reflective listening skills and facilitating the generation of options and action planning.
  • Is able to assign tasks using such techniques and needs analysis, individual skills assessment, objective setting and communication.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
  • Strong negotiation skills
