Being a Memory Maker as a Meetings and Events Sales Manager

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Central Groups, Meetings and Events in Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow



 

Essential Functions

To assist in achieving group M and E revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals by developing and implementing strategies to increase hotel M and E Sales by providing support to onsite properties.

To assist in maximizing M and E sales by professional and efficient handling of bookings at enquiry stage and ensuring full handover to on property teams who will take over booking from after enquiry through to completion of event.

This should involve exceeding the customers expectation on every occasion ensuring that we become the preferred venue for our new, existing and past clients and booking agents.

The Responsibilities

  • Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson Blu Edwardian experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Gives personal attention, take personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.
  • Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems.
  • Management  and  leadership of the London Meetings team.
  • Daily commercial management of the London Meetings activities to ensure high yield management at all times using Smart Space demand calendar as a benchmark.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for London Meetings which are aligned with Radisson Blu Edwardians overall mission, vision, values and strategies.
  • Analyses sales and statistics to determine profitability of sold business and opportunities within the market.
  • Daily management of the generic London meetings email in-box and correct allocation of activities to the team.
  • Effective implementation and management of referral system from onsite teams.
  • Oversee the complete management of Sussex Hotel M and E including, but not limited to: enquiry handling, contracting, final details and billing.
  • Management of referrals to other RBEL and  May Fair hotels.
  • Update Opera profiles ensuring correct SOP standards.
  • Ensuring a 1 hour turnaround time for the answering of all customer enquiries.
  • Identify and pass on new sales leads to the proactive sales team.
  • Daily management of the client enquiries  and activities ensuring that the hotel meetings and events details and activities are up to date at all times.
  • Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritise needs and effectively manage resources and time.
  • Collaborate effectively with on-site hotel M and E employees and managers to ensure full and effective teamwork including but not limited to cover in instances of holiday and sickness.
  • Understand the positioning of the hotel, services provided and how the hotel can meet the needs of customers and be capable of closing business.
  • Develops sales strategies designed to maximize revenue and yield and also participates in the development of yield management strategies for the hotel.
  • Extremely high visibility of meetings and events enquiries to gain maximum conversion.
  • Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities.
  • Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback.
  • Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential.
  • Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality.
  • Attend monthly M and E managers meeting.
  • Carry out monthly 1:1 sessions with the team.

  • Understands the strategic positioning of all group hotels and  the company within the competitive market
  • Understands the tools of financial management 
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and IT applications: Opera, My Hr World
  • Local area knowledge, including local competition in the restaurant sector
  • Product knowledge
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Knowledge of Radisson Blu Edwardian systems and procedures
  • Be aware of latest products in the market
  • Confidence and the ability to communicate and establish rapport
  • Managerial skills-including the ability to foster teamwork and communicate effectively
  • Decision Making: Improve decision making by clarifying and setting goals, sharing perspectives on reality, identifying options and creating consensus on a way forward.
  • Organization: Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manage resources.
  • Is able to develop and guide others in professional growth and performance enhancement through assuring clarity of goals, employing reflective listening skills and facilitating the generation of options and action planning.
  • Is able to assign tasks using such techniques and needs analysis, individual skills assessment, objective setting and communication.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
  • Strong negotiation skills
