Being a Memory Maker as a Restaurant Manager

In this role, you will become part of the Edwardian family and work within Food and Beverage in Radisson Blu Edwardian Grafton

Under the general guidance and supervision of the F and B Manager, direct the restaurant and bar operations to ensure quality service and standards while delivering a guest experience that is unique

The Role

Take overall responsibility for guest satisfaction, by managing the restaurant and bar operation at all times

Ensure the staff are trained in all aspect of service excellence standards and follow the standards at all times

Lead the way in delivering a guest experience that is unique and brings the brand to life

Seek opportunities to improve the guest experience by seeking feedback, and evaluating service levels

Sets objectives for the restaurant and bar team, and manages the head waiters and senior staff

Ensure that the restaurant and bar areas are set up in accordance with Service Excellence F and B standards, and are consistently maintained

Conducts daily pre-shift meetings to discuss event detail, special requests and product development

Manage restaurant and bar inventories

Ensure all storage areas, still rooms and bar areas are cleaned and inspected on a regular basis

Ensure that appropriate account and cash bar procedures are implemented in accordance with company standards

Ensure all legislative and company fire, health, hygiene, safety and security guidelines are upheld

Select, train, develop, recognize, coach, evaluate and manage the performance of all staff in the restaurant and bar team

Recruit and select qualified staff and promote from within were possible

Provide employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities

Evaluate employees performance, and conducts regular appraisals and feedback sessions

Provide employees with the tools necessary to perform job responsibilities

Give personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork to provide excellent guest service

Assist in developing annual budget recommendations and implements the approved budget

Ensure that all restaurant facilities and equipment are cleaned, vacuumed and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume

Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals

Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction

Ensure effective communication and synergy between the teams and other hotel departments

Conduct regular departmental meeting to ensure open two-way communication

Deliver service standards in accordance with the company F and B manual or brand bible

Monitor and control equipment, staffing and Restaurant and Bar sales costs on a daily basis, taking corrective action where necessary whilst always maintaining the Service Excellence Standards

Analyses business results on a regular basis and takes actions to improve results as directed by Service Excellence

Understand and assess current practices and processes and develops innovative solutions

Conducts regular departmental meeting to ensure open two-way communication

To deliver service standards in accordance with the company F and B manual or brand bible

Perform other duties required to provide the service brand behaviour and genuine hospitality


Key Requirements


The Requirements

Is able to use IT applications ,Opentable, Micros, E-mail

Is able to achieve a 100% pass mark in Micros competency tests

Have great Food and beverage product knowledge, and an awareness of menus and pricing

Excellent local area awareness

Confident ability to communicate and establish rapport

Has knowledge of technical service skills

Has a good level of Food and beverage product knowledge

Has a good command of the English language

Understanding of financial budgeting and forecasting, and the impact of promotional activity

Has the ability to make decisions by clarifying goals, sharing perspectives, identifying options and created a way forward

Has the ability to relate to, communicate with, and motivate employees to sustain high performance and quality levels

Is able to develop and guide others in professional growth and performance enhancement through assuring clarity of goals, employing reflective listening skills, and facilitating the generation of options and action planning

To achieve results above the benchmark for customer engagement audits including GAP mystery shopper results

Ensure that his/her work is accurate and thorough by maintaining standards to a high degree

Has the ability to demonstrate personal ownership of tasks and follow through to get the required results

Work to achieve high levels of personal and departmental performance measures in order to meet and exceed expectations

Achieve employee engagement results that are above the company requirements.
