TITLE: Manager Hospital Financial Planning

LOCATION: Melville



The Manager is responsible for assisting the Assistant Vice President of Financial Planning with hospital business planning. Serves as the strategic link between finance and operations for the Hospital division.

Continuously performs financial analysis to ensure achievement of Hospital financial objectives and support of hospital mission. Works closely with Corporate Finance department and operations leaders to develop, implement, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets and business plans. Identifies and implements opportunities to improve financial operations and performance.

  •         Analyzes historical trends and volume projections in partnership with operations leaders and managers to develop annual capital and operating budget for service lines.
  •         Conducts monthly expense, revenue, and volume monitoring through a thorough understanding of the general ledger and budgeting systems
  •         Assist in developing financial pro-forma for service line development
  •         Assist in putting together financial pro-forma for hospital strategy
  •         Assist in completing financial modeling, including ROI analysis, for internal projects such as capital expansion, new sites, etc.
  •         Direct and coordinate the establishment of operating and capital budgets for key service lines.
  •         Responsible for directing and managing staff.
  •         Oversee preparation of monthly reports and closely monitor volume and revenue trends for monitoring approved hospital business plans.
  •         Develops and oversees productivity measures for the department with tools for monitoring
  •         Prepare special financial reporting, as requested to assist leadership.



        Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Accounting degree with an MBA designation preferred

  •         Excellent planning and organizational skills
  •         Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills with ability to organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention or detail and accuracy
  •         Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex finances to different audiences
  •         Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  •         Health care delivery
  •         Cost containment activities
