Job Description


The information Architect provides positive user experience by planning an designing the information structure for websites and web applications. This position focuses on the target audience, the technologies that are used to create the sites and actual information on the site. The information architect will organize information and design strategies using data from usability testing on users interact with KMHA's software.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

        Partnering with Product and Development teams, content administrators, and end-users to assess the current content experience and determine immediate and long term need to support content use.

        Developing and maintaining taxonomies, metadata models, conditionalization, and classification schemes across KMHA content.

        Scoping the business requirements to select or build highly useable, software-based solutions to meet our needs.

        Performing regular content audits to ensure compliance with IA standards and rid the systems of old, unused, or duplicate data.


Requirements & Qualifications 

Bachelor's Degree Information technology, MIS, or Engineering or in related technical field preferred or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience; including:
  • 5+ years of experience with information architecture of complex websites;
  • Significant experience developing interface mockups, wireframes, flowcharts, prototypes, and style guides
  • Focus on medical informatics with experience in IHE, HL7, DICOM standards and frameworks

        Minimum of two years previous service, manufacturing quality control, or research/development experience in Healthcare IT systems
  • Relational DB modeling
  • Solid understanding of principles of information organization and user interface design; Demonstrated ability to document complex designs
  • Experience with information modeling, data diagramming, and content optimization
  • Experience in a data warehouse environment, which includes data design, data integration, database architecture, metadata, and reporting creation
  • Good to have the ability to read and understand code (reverse engineer IA from existing code)

Desired Qualifications

        Masters Degree Information Management

        Experience in large, matrixed organization
