Project Superintendent

Location: MO or AR (Travel required)

We are seeking a seasoned professional in the Heavy Highway industry to fulfill the responsibilities of Superintendent. Must manage multiple aspects of assigned projects, including but not limited to: oversight and management of field operations, scheduling of all site resources, sequencing, work quality/quality control, subcontractor/supplier coordination, and all aspects of project site safety.

  • Work with project manager to determine method and sequencing of construction. Plans, directs, coordinates and budgets activities.

  • Manage day to day activities and prepare daily electronic field logs.

  • Manage multiple tasks, crews and projects as well as be able to handles changes in project priority based on resource availability.

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with owner, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Communicate and promote safe working environment and company safety standards, with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations in regards to crane and bridge construction.

  • Must be able to read plans and have a strong knowledge of various DOT specifications and standards. Superintendent will inspect work in progress to ensure quality workmanship that conforms to contract specifications and standards. Working knowledge of MoDOT Quality Management Program a plus.

  • Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.

  • Responsible for compliance with all Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policies and procedures.

  • 5+ years of experience working the heavy civil and bridge construction industry.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents

  • Able to produce and communicate a 3 week look ahead schedule.

  • Strong computer skills

  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability.
