Job Description


Our  NYC  client- a global group of creative agencies for beauty, health and wellness and work across PR, global and local strategic brand positioning, events, content, design and social are looking to hire an Account Director full time. This is onsite M-F weekdays.

Role Overview
  • Assume full responsibility for clients within your team – focusing on retention, maintenance and growth
  • Day-to-day responsibility for team profitability, stability & wellbeing
  • Direct, delegate and supervise progress of campaigns & accounts
  • Be actively involved in the new business drive – for existing and new clients
  • Act as a mentor & lead by example
  • Direct reports:           SAM/ SAE OR AE / INTERN

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Client servicing:

         Own, maintain and develop senior client relationships including:

Manage difficult situations & show ability to challenge, where appropriate

         Fully understand your clients’ business:

The business structure, hierarchy and internal processes

Your client’s job role and their own internal pressures

         Effectively position yourself as a strategic PR expert and as key client contact

         Be a key part of your clients’ planning process:

Prove yourself as a key member of the inter-agency (external or internal) mix

         Be proactive and demonstrate intuition:

Proactively raise potential issues & anticipate what your client may need/require ahead of their asking

         Ensure you/your team are providing on-going relevant insights that add value

         Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate the full Agency offering

 

2)    Media Management & Creativity:

         Assume responsibility for all media strategy and team output

         Build campaign/seasonal media plans & devise complementary social media activities

         Be accountable – set clear deliverables and KPIs for each campaign/ account

         Negotiate and manage feature placement, interviews, exclusives, embargoes, celebrity endorsements

         Ensure that your team is constantly growing its media knowledge/expertise

         Continue engagement with senior editors

         Understand the evolving media landscape

         Ensure campaigns are evaluated and reviewed effectively

         Demonstrate on-going creative input to your campaigns

         Build campaign Q&A and manage issues/crisis comms (with senior direction)

         Writing & Reporting:

         Build scope of work for each campaign/client

         Develop strategic client proposals and deliver them efficiently

         Create coherent Comms plan for the team to activate

                  Assume responsibility (with team) for all weekly/monthly reports as agreed with clients

         Ensure all campaigns reviews are presented proficiently with learnings and insights

Show creativity in how reviews are built (e.g. moving image, books…)

Create case studies

         Show the ability to secure briefs & distil into internal briefs          Be actively involved in new business proposals – show strategy & outstanding creativity

         Business Skills, Financial Targets & Integrated:

                  Be accountable for financial targets and client profitability including:

Build annual client budgets and demonstrate year-on-year growth

Deliver against team/client budget forecasts & re-forecasts,

Cross-sell and deliver business into integrated departments

         Demonstrate ability to grow clients’ business by identifying incremental opportunities and cross-sell the integrated offer

         Manage your clients/team billing with Finance:

Ensure team is following The Agency processes – budgets, reconciliations, POs

Meet regularly with Finance to review financial position

Present coherent budgets & ensure reconciliations are provided

                    Ensure correct contracts/agreements are in place for each client/brand/campaign

         Be proactive in identifying new business opportunities

 

  General:

         Inspire your team. Ensure you are an approachable leader who is committed to their development

         Demonstrate appetite to learn new techniques and technologies across the social media/online landscape which will inspire your team to follow suit

         Ensure your team is clear on roles and responsibilities in both the short and long term

         Ensure that written KPIs are developed and shared with HR

         Upward manage – ensure your line managers are updated at all times & troubleshoot issues with
