Job Description

The role is a key member of the organization responsible for the design, development and implementation of the controls systems for HVAC products that meet or exceed best-in-class performance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development of quality controls system hardware.  He / She will have expertise in conducting research, design, development, verification and test of electronic hardware.  The candidate is expected to be a team player who will work closely with colleagues and collaborate with the other business unit engineering teams.

 Duties & Responsibilities


•  Responsible for the hardware design of electronic controls

•  Conduct research, design, development, verification and test of electronic hardware.

•  Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

•  Support system design engineering, product engineering, manufacturing, sales & marketing, quality and supply chain functions

•  Guide any external, contract development resources

•  Collaborate with corporate platform development team to re-use platform assets.  Provide technical requirements to drive specific requirements and feedback on any issues.


Experience & qualifications


•     7 years+ of system hardware testing experience

•     Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows Operating Systems, Virtual Machines and PC hardware.

•     Expertise in testing methods, tools, and terminology; test procedure and test specification writing/maintenance and test execution; product testing plan development and issue and configuration management

•     Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and advanced problem solving skills.

•     Good communications and organizational skills

•     Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

•     Familiarity with stage gate product development processes

•     Self-motivation, innovation drive, accountability and ownership




•        Working knowledge of BACnet and ModBus communication protocols

•        Experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages

•        Familiarity with Matlab or similar

•        Familiarity with testing PC or mobile device based software

•        Agile product development methods




Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related field, or equivalent directly related experience.



Minimum travel is required
