Job Description

Marketing and Public Relations Duties

  1. Assisting in the concept and production of promotional and informational materials for FLACRA programs including posters, printouts, brochures, photos, and web-based marketing.
  2. Maintain stock of all marketing supplies.
  3. Organizing and recruitment of resources to include volunteers, brochure expansion, grant applications.
  4. Perform in-person outreach to partners and community members to inform them of FLACRA services/programs.
  5. Work with information databases/mailing lists.
  6. Assist with conducting outreach, recruiting volunteers, coordinate projects, public relations, press releases, fund raising events, conduct outreach.
  7. Utilize social media such as blogs, web banners, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn that promote our events and businesses.
  8. Develop and maintain agency newsletter.
  9. Participate in community events such as health fairs, community forums, workshops, alumni groups, and recruitment of QHP’s.
  10. Collect and maintain data for reports that demonstrate outcomes.
  11. Evaluate the implementation of the marketing strategy.
  12. Plan employee celebrations and wellness activities.
  13. Maintain overall calendar and scheduling of marketing and public relations events.


Other Skills/Knowledge and Experience

  1. Good customer service skills including excellent written and verbal skills.
  2. Creativity and enthusiasm.
  3. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases, social media.
  4. Must be able to work under tight deadlines and respond to being called in if needed.
  5. A flexible schedule including evenings, weekends may be assigned at times.
  6. Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Experience using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube.
  8.  Experience with HTML, WordPress, and/or SharePoint is a plus.
  9. Must be comfortable speaking with new people and diverse groups.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: In a college, university or graduate level student pursuing a Marketing, Communications, or similar degree in a related field with an interest in nonprofit management, business development, education, human services, urban planning, and/or community planning. Valid NYS Drivers’ License.
