Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Nursing/Staff Development Coordinator will serve as both a leader and a clinical educator among the clinical staff within the facility. As a leader they will work, together with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care and outstanding customer service to all patients and their families, create and maintain great employee relationships among staff. The Assistant Director of Nursing/Staff Development Coordinator will also work together with the Director of Nursing in attracting and retaining top preforming, talented team members as well as supervising and career coaching existing team members.

As a clinical educator, the Assistant Director of Nursing/Staff Development Coordinator will provide necessary educational and learning opportunities within a supportive environment that will assist personnel in gaining knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively. They will also be responsible for coordinating and developing learning experiences that support quality care consistent with standards, policies and procedures of the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, director, and motivator
  • Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
  • Must have at minimum 2+ years of successful supervisory experience
  • Must have a current, unencumbered RN license valid in SC
  • Must have stable work history, the dedication and commitment to lead our healthcare team
  • Previous experience in education/staff development preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive employee relationships
  • Ability to follow all applicable policies and procedures as well as current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care facilities
  • Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a patient/resident’s condition
