About the Position:

Working in long-term care provides an opportunity unique from all other types of health care facilities. Unlike nursing in other settings, long term care provides the opportunity to practice truly holistic nursing care while fostering a lasting connection between caregivers, patients, and their families. The role of a Hospitality Aide provides a unique, non-clinical opportunity to work among a strong and collaborative care team, make a real difference in the lives of the patients & residents in our care.

 

Position Summary:

The Hospitality Aide works alongside the nursing department preforming non-nursing, non-direct/hands-on duties pertaining to the comfort and well-being of the patients of the facility. Some of these duties include: making beds, passing water to patients, serving/ removing food trays, answering call lights, cleaning/changing linens, transporting patients around the facility, inventorying patient’s personal items upon admission, and other non-nursing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Must have the desire to care for people, especially those who are elderly and chronically ill
  • Must be capable of following oral and written instructions
  • Must be able to write simple records and reports under supervision
  • Must have a pleasant and courteous manner
  • Must speak, understand, and write fluently in English
  • Must have reliable transportation
