The Joint Replacement Institute at Mountain's Edge Hospital is a unique patient-centric total joint replacement program built around the concept of "rapid recovery with the safety of a hospital."


Position Summary:

The RN (Registered Nurse) Nurse Navigator is responsible for the coordination of patient care from pre-admission through discharge. They coordinate the pre-admission process to ensure the patient assessment is completed according to hospital standards; notifies the physician with abnormal clinical findings; educates patient and family/significant other on the hospital experience, including pre-admission and post-discharge planning; implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates care options, services and resources; proactive in finding ways to enhance the patient experience clinically and in-service in order to provide an exceptional patient experience.

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must have a current and unencumbered RN license valid in the State of Nevada.
  • Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Must have current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Must have at least three (3) year’ experience in surgical services with at least one (1) year as a patient navigator/ case manager for surgical patients.
  • Orthopaedic Nursing Certification (ONC) highly preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language; additional languages preferred.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have basic working computer knowledge
  • Must be detail oriented with strong documentation skills; clinically astute
  • Must be able to coordinate a variety of care providers and schedules to maximize the patient and family experience
