The RN Wound Care Nurse works in harmony with the nursing staff assessing, treating, and creating care plans for patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and/or continence conditions. Position Summary:

The Wound Care Nurse will provide consultation and direct assistance in the management of patients with altered skin integrity (pressure necrosis, wounds, fistulas, etc). They will offer in-service programs as needed to assist nursing, rehabilitation and medical staff to maintain knowledge and competence in wound care. The Wound Care Nurse will also collect, analyze and document information and statistics related to wounds in the facility, as well as perform clinical evaluations for potential wound admissions. 

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator and motivator and have excellent leadership skills.
  • Must have a current, unencumbered RN license valid in South Carolina
  • 1-2 years wound care experience required
  • Wound Care Certification (WOCN) preferred
  • 1+ years of long term care experience preferred
  • Must demonstrate the ability to provide superior customer service
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
  • Must be a team player!
