Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Position requires demonstrated knowledge and ability to provide nursing care for residents pursuant to established standards of practice; demonstrate effective verbal and written communication in English; ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships; maintain records/files/reports. Position requires full range of body motion including handling and moving residents; physical dexterity; good hand-eye coordination; standing and walking for extended periods; lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds; corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Job Responsibilities 

•         Work to achieve and maintain continuity of resident care by assisting in planning and exchanging information with other health professionals, as well as family members.

•         Provide physical and emotional support to the residents.

•         Observe and report significant changes in resident condition.

•         Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.

•         Assist Physician and RN in performing specialized procedures.

•         Document changes in condition, physician visits, and provide a monthly summary of resident activities.

•         Respond to emergency situations competently and calmly; exercise appropriate judgment.

•         Provide direct supervision to the nurse aides and assist in planning and coordinating quality care.
