Position Summary:

The Charge Capture Analyst (CCA) will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and implementing Charge Capture edit and review initiatives, functions and processes to ensure and enhance revenue cycle management and revenue protection. Through strong customer service/support, data analytics and workflow analysis facilitates CCA processes Hartford Healthcare.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Analyzes content of reports and software charge capture edits for missed charge opportunities, overcharges, and duplicate charges.
  2. Provides training to ambulatory employees to ensure accurate charge capture and consistency. 
  3. Identify charging, coding, or clinical documentation issues to coordinate and communicate pro-actively to resolve charge capture issues by work with appropriate leadership and ancillary, Patient Financial Services, HIM, departments, etc. regarding charging and clinical documentation issues.
  4. Ensure the sustainability and integrity of charge capture initiatives through consistent audits, communication of results and development of training materials, as necessary
  5. Collaborates with managed care department to code billable items for reimbursement. Collaborates with appropriate staff to secure information for billable items.
  6. Coordinates projects and audits to improve processes related to revenue cycle, efficiency of charging and billing.
  7. Provides weekly and monthly revenue integrity reports and maintains relevant ambulatory charge capture statistics.

Job Requirements

Education: High School diploma or GED required. Licensed RN preferred Undergraduate degree preferred.

Experience: Healthcare experience required. Clinical experience preferred

Licensure, Certification, Registration: CCS, CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, RHIA.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • Able to establish good customer relationships with trust and respect 
  • Able to travel as needed 
  • Computer skills: navigation and edit resolution through various Web based systems. Ability to use email, Excel, Word
