Department Description:

The department of Clinical Informatics leverages our uniquely equipped Physician and Nurse Informaticists to promote and improve the utilization of innovative technologies consistent with the goals and objectives of clinical and strategic initiatives of the organization and to support care transformation. We serve as liaisons between Clinicians and Information Technology to align clinical standards with IT standards, and develop workflows, processes and policies. Our teams are located regionally to provide onsite support to our acute hospitals while equally engaged in serving ambulatory care, home health, care coordination, Telehealth, Analytics and other initiatives across the care continuum. 

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Informatics Department the Clinical Informatics Analyst will function as the clinical expert, consultant, leader and educator to clinical, operational and financial innovation projects to generate value. The Clinical Analyst must be able to work in a dynamic environment, building strong work relationships across the organization with clinical, operational and administrative stakeholders and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advises, influences and works collaboratively with Clinical departments & improvement teams to identify business needs, analyze workflows, and implement leading edge technologies to achieve desired outcomes.
  2. Plans, coordinates and monitors development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of assigned projects.
  3. Ability to translate complex or diverse information into simpler terms and concepts.
  4. Manages the impact of new technology e.g. wireless networks, point of care devices, instrument interfaces, and bar coding to ensure fit with clinical workflow processes. 
  5. Ensures privacy and security access according to policies.
  6. Participates in the development of end-user communications, curriculum, training plans and tools. Conducts and supports end-user training using formats appropriate to target audience. 
  7. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities. Able to flex work hours based on project requirements. 
  8. Takes part in the testing and on-site support for system activations and upgrades involving 24/7 coverage. 
  9. Introduce new devices, tools, processes, structures that assist with developing stakeholder knowledge and management of data in provision of patient care and population health.
  10. Ensures accuracy, data integrity and validity of data/analysis in all work.
  11. Works closely with Information Technology Services - both clinical and technical team members through all phases of system configuration, testing, implementation and ongoing support.

Job Requirements

  • Four (4) years of healthcare experience required
  • Three (3) years Electronic Medical Record experience, Epic preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience with a variety of clinical systems & technologies including mobile devices, remote monitoring, virtual health, analytics and innovation desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean methodology and Project management
  • Demonstrated service excellence and customer service orientation. 
  • Strong leadership skills, prior leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical specialty or closely related field required 
  • Master’s Degree (or advanced) degree in Clinical specialty, Informatics, Business highly desired. 

Licensure / Certification:

  • Current licensure in clinical field in the State of Connecticut strongly preferred
  • Specialty Certification by accredited board in Clinical care, Informatics highly desirable.
