Department Description:

CareConnect is a Hartford HealthCare (HHC) program focused on the implementation of the Epic electronic health record across the organization. Community Connect is an extension of this program to non-HHC physician practices. This team implements both the clinical medical record as well as practice management software which includes scheduling and billing.

Position Summary:

The ITS Application Specialist provides application and technical information system support for Hartford HealthCare’s telehealth programs which utilize digital information and communication technologies such as computers and mobile devices to provide healthcare services remotely. Telehealth extends access to specialty services to patients who live in rural or isolated communities or individuals with limited mobility, time, or transportation options.

As part of this team, the ITS Application Specialist’s responsibilities include but, are not limited to:
  1. Providing support for Hartford HealthCare’s telehealth programs through the knowledgeable use of appropriate technology and available functionality
  2. Collaborating with clinical informatics to identify the best technology for specific telehealth use cases
  3. Coordinating telehealth hardware ordering, delivery, and testing
  4. Facilitating issue resolution, providing alternative solutions to problems, and working with application analysts and clinical informatics to proactively enhance application design and implementation
  5. Participating in overall application design, build, testing, and training
  6. "On Call" responsibilities as required

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and/or 1 year of related experience 

Experience: Healthcare experience is preferred. Understanding of the foundational structures of Epic software, including MyChart and Hyperspace workflows and configuration in Hyperspace and Text Epic 2018 certification or proficiency preferred
