Job Description

Work where every moment matters.

Every day, almost 20,000 Hartford HealthCare employees come to work with one thing in common: Pride in what we do, knowing every moment matters here. We invite you to become part of Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network.

The story of Hartford HealthCare is the story of transformation – from a handful of disconnected organizations a decade ago to a unified system with a shared, value-based culture of accountability and innovation. The healthcare landscape has become highly competitive, with new players and disruptive technology and we are working to expand and create our system’s organizational, leadership, cultural, and talent capabilities to ensure Hartford HealthCare will always be the first choice of the people we serve.

We have our own unique Operating Model called H3W (How Hartford Healthcare Works). This model is founded on respect for people, anchored in our values, driven by our leadership behaviors and embodies Lean principles, systems, and tools to ultimately achieve desired results. The Lean Office is part of the System Support Office, which recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities continue to evolve to ensure our departments work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.

The H3W Lean Facilitator is responsible for guiding assigned workgroups and leadership teams through the Lean transformation. There are approximately 750 workgroups (departments) across the system on the HHC Lean Journey. Each facilitator ranges approximately from 40 to 50 workgroups and reports to a Sensei (Executive Lean Coach).

Candidates are required to have essential interpersonal, technical, social, navigational and influencing skills. This Lean transformation is founded on values, behaviors and principles that guide both decision making and outcomes that the facilitator must model consistently. The H3W Lean Facilitator is also required to adhere to Lean office standard work, have an open mind, a team player, an effective communicator, flexible, dedicated and model high performance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Promote and role model our values and leadership behaviors
•Deliver HHC Lean immersion training (e.g. management system, A3 problem solving, workplace excellence, etc.)
•Kata coaching and ongoing mentoring to managers and directors
•Support managers and directors in establishing daily management huddles and performing Leader Standard Work
•Supporting idea generation, A3 problem solving sessions, rapid improvement kaizen events and both regional and system-wide initiatives.
•Engage in Lean office advanced initiatives and annual improvement priorities
•Support workgroups through their Lean maturity journey

•Performing baseline strategic assessments, preparing workgroups for certification assessments, analytical interpretation of the information and ensures strategic alignment.
•Partner with internal and external expertise to leverage our H3W Operating Model to advance workgroups to achieving their strategic objectives.
