Position Summary:

The Team Lead (Application Analyst) functions as a senior analyst while also supervising a team of application analysts, accountable for staff management functions including staff assignments, coaching/mentoring, performance management and other administrative duties. They work under the direction of the Application Director or manager to configure, build & support the application. They coordinate all issues that arise during projects for their application area. Serve as a point of escalation for support and expert resource needs.
The team lead will have the ability to manage projects and to work with and within interdisciplinary teams. Using a high standard of customer service, ensures resolution and completion of staff assignments, to the satisfaction of the customer. Primary responsibilities include analyzing work flows and understanding policies, procedures and constraints of the clinical or business operations. In depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality is required. A key activity is to analyze new releases to determine how workflow should be modified. They function as the primary contact to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users during training, go-live and post go-live periods. Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position. Successful candidates enjoy helping other users learn and adopt usage of the application.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Participates in the day to day supervision of team members including work prioritization, resource coordination, and performance management and development of staff
  2. Collaborates and consults with the application director and other team leaders to coordinate activities
  3. Manages daily operations and communications around claims and remittances
  4. Demonstrates competency sufficient to provide assistance to team members to meet milestone dates or other project requirements
  5. Understands the operational issues within their application area well enough to represent their users’ needs to Epic.
  6. Escalates incidents and work orders appropriately, when a higher level of technical support is necessary, and verifies those resources have received and understand the request.
  7. Accountable for managing the scope, schedule, and quality of the project within their respective area
  8. Accountable for delivery of services produced by their respective team/area of responsibility; including but not limited to requirements, workflow, software functionality and integration
  9. Ensures the design, validation sessions and build of the applications meet established standards and organizational needs
  10. Facilitates development of integrated workflows by working closely with the project team, subject matter experts and technical leads to define processes that cross applications and functional areas
  11. Collaborates and consults with the Application Director to coordinate activities
  12. Engages the clinical and business community to ensure their voices are heard, their needs are met and they are kept informed of project progress
  13. Demonstrates competency sufficient to provide assistance to application coordinators to meet milestone dates or other project requirements
  14. Collaborates with vendor resources; plays an active role in managing the progress of the project on an ongoing basis.
  15. Must attend EPIC training.
  16. Will have “On Call” responsibilities as required.
  17. Performs other duties as directed by managed.

Job Requirements

  • Preferred Epic Certifications in Resolution Claims and Remittance (PB or HB)
  • Associates degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a Healthcare environment required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Business area is preferred
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a challenging healthcare environment strongly preferred with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience required
