Job Description Summary: Facilitates and develops the relationship with the medical/scientific community by communicating product related information to investigators and institutions. Provides information on research developments and new concepts in medical treatment, giving perspective to field activities associated with growing existing products and bringing new products to market. Responsibilities: Identifies, establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key investigators and institutions strategic to the effective use of company products. Participates in medical education for healthcare professionals, including formulary committees, through presentations at appropriate venues. Facilitates the identification of medical community training and educational needs for product introduction. Works with the appropriate departments to ensure required education and training are provided. Increases Spectrums visibility with current and future industry leaders. Identifies clinical research opportunities that are consistent with company objectives. Enhances professional interaction between Spectrum and industry leaders. Provides investigators with technical support for study development. Identifies and communicates key clinical and research issues from industry leaders to appropriate departments to help shape company research, development, marketing plans and strategies. Maintains clinical expertise through aggressive education including attendance at relevant conferences, scientific workshops and review of key journals. Evaluate site infrastructure and Investigators capability to successfully conduct clinical trials Support sales with rapid resolution of clinical issues arising from the field Deliver lectures as required before health care providers concerning Spectrums products and their use Attend key medical meetings both to represent Spectrum and to gather competitive and educational information Work with key departments (Clinical Research, Sales, Marketing, and Managed Care) in developing and implementing successful training programs as needed Stay abreast of new developments, papers and trends in key therapeutic areas and work with Marketing to be a conduit to the field for review of these development Review concepts and protocols for scientific merit and strategic fit Maintain and communicate scientific expertise in relevant clinical and research areas Required Skills Skills, Education and Experience: An MD, PhD or Pharm D. or Nurse Practitioners and 3 years experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare education environment is required. Minimum of 3 years Oncology is required. Clinical trial development experience is preferred Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations and OIG guidelines is required. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required. Ability to network and partner with important external customers, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors and pharmacy directors is required Strong clinical/medical background (training and/or experience) with ability to successfully communicate and teach in a complex and competitive environment Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills both written and oral 5 years experience in a Medical Affairs organization preferred Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner Availability: Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required. Position Location and/or Territory and Travel Position is field based covering the North East Territory to include, PA, NY, VT, NH, ME, MA, RI, CT, NJ, DE, MD, DC Position will require 70% - 80% travel Spectrum Pharmaceuticals is an equal opportunity employer, we evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color.
