Position Core Role:  

This position is for the Honda Regional Accounting Development Program (H-RAD). Expectations are that the associate will spend the first two (2) years on the job in three (3) rotations through various roles in Accounting and Finance at various locations. Candidate can expect to rotate through different roles at multiple Honda locations with North America. At the end of the two (2) year rotation, the associate will be placed in a permanent role at a Honda location within North America.

  Essential Function and Responsibilities:   Associate will rotate through various job responsibilities within Honda in the following areas: Learn basic accounting flows associated with Honda business, Record to Report, Order to Cash, and Requisition to Payment. Understand the basic elements to Honda cost management, financial planning and budgeting. Develop understanding of Honda accounting policy, practices, and standards. Develop basic skills for Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), problem-solving and decision management. Understand capital investment and manpower/labor expense process flows.   Daily Tasks:   Prepare journal entries for financial transactions. Prepare Reconciliations of Balance Sheet Accounts. Prepare analysis of financial information for decision support to management. Monitor and track financial performance of various operation divisions of Honda.   Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Strong written and verbal communication skills, highly self-motivated and organized. Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are required. Must understand principles of both US-GAAP and IFRS accounting standards. Should have good understanding of financial statements, how they are used by those inside and outside of the organization.   Required Experience: Less than two (2) years of experience preferred
Co-op/Internship (preferred)   Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting   Honda Factors: Willingness to relocate to various Honda locations throughout North America
