About the Opportunity:You will be leading Honda Aircraft Company’s Inventory Management team to support the Customer Service organization; which encompasses the support to the HondaJet world-wide customer base, the HondaJet global dealer network, and the Greensboro Service Center operations. This person will be responsible for managing the inventory strategy, materials planning and forecasting, returns management, and vendor recovery process.  Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the inventory strategy to optimize inventory levels to meet customer expectations and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Drive efficiency through measuring and monitoring key performance indicators such as inventory turns, order fill rate, and internal stock transfers. Proactively identify and propose actions to manage inventory performance.    
  • Engage and collaborate with the Supply Chain Management and Quality teams to drive countermeasures for any underperforming material or supplier challenges.
  • Provide complete management of exchange and rental inventory. Monitor the rotable inventory demand, total aircraft fleet size and usage, and defined inspection or removal periods to ensure the appropriate inventory pool size. 
  • Manage the returned goods process with the various groups involved. Drive accurate and prompt return of rotable parts to serviceable condition. 
  • Monitor and administer the vendor recovery process. Measure supplier and applicable product performance, ensuring they meet contractual expectations. 
  • Prioritize and adjust strategic plans and initiatives according to organizational, regulatory, and market drivers (e.g., new product developments).
  • Lead and advocate for continuous improvement of systems and processes that impact workflow and customer service.
  • Maintain strong internal cross functional communications and relationships. 
  • Manage and develop the Materials Management team through recruitment, training, coaching, motivating, and evaluating.
  • Participate in and ensure daily team scheduling for (24/7) On-Call support coverage.   
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Supply Chain or Business; 7-10 years experience in related technical field in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous experience working in aviation, aerospace or a related field required; preferably in an aftermarket customer service environment.
  • 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management, or related operations.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Leadership/Supervisor role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes programs.
  • Experience in SAP strongly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong detail oriented skills.
  • Good project management skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work as scheduled, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as demand requires.
  • Ability to travel as required.
