Job Description

We are searching for an Interior Packaging & Performance Research engineer to play a key role in making next generation Honda & Acura vehicles 'fun to use' for our customers while focusing on seat comfort, ease of use, space, function and quality. 

The primary focus for this position is vehicle interior packaging (driving position, cabin space, cargo space, ingress and egress, and outward visibility).

Major job functions include:

  • Research of customer expectations and competitor performance benchmarking.
  • Establishment of performance standards/targets to ensure customer expectation is met or exceeded.
  • Negotiation with stylists and part designers to ensure that part construction achieves the target.
  • Confirmation of performance using predictive tools (such as RAMSIS, CAE) and physical testing of actual parts, from early prototype phases through to mass production.  

The successful candidate will fill the following requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design or a related field and a minimum of 1 year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Catia V5 and RAMSIS
  • Ability to use coordinate measuring machine
