Job Description

Duties to include but not limited to conducting design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping, and manufacturing of assigned products. Superior communication skills are necessary, negotiation with suppliers, Honda factories and other groups within Honda R&D are expected. Analyze components/parts in area of specialty to ensure that established layout, quality, cost, performance standards and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded. Travel could be required to other Honda facilities and suppliers not limited to North America.

Design Engineer with a BS degree (ME or EE) with 3-6 years of engineering experience in related field. Proven experience to include all phases of automotive development (concept, specification setting and layout creation and negotiation capability).
CATIA V5 experience is highly desired and must be proficient in MS office tools. Professionalism and willingness to adapt to changes with proven related experience.
Travel could be required to other Honda facilities and suppliers not limited to North America.
Experience as design engineer desired. (creatting & managing drawings and designs, working with other groups to achieve development goals, etc.) Design project leadership interest and experience desired.
Ability to function independently on a day-to-day basis.
