In this role, you will be responsible for managing Regional Payroll operations and ensuring our Honda associates receive timely, accurate pay. In your pursuit of impeccable quality, you set and execute the strategy, and manage customer and vendor relations. Your endless curiosity will drive innovative activities.

At Honda, our associates take pride in their responsibilities. A typical day for a Payroll Manager will include:

  • Managing the regional payroll operations for in-house payroll model including timeliness and accuracy of multi-state payroll processing and year-end activities, tax and compliance
  • Providing payroll expertise on projects/business initiatives including pay policy and systems enhancements as well as testing
  • Serving as the subject matter expert on all payroll matters including troubleshooting and resolution of system functionality issues
  • Adhering to federal, state and local laws including reporting requirements
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, tax and SOX compliance
  • Aligning with Honda’s purpose and values

We are looking for qualified people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, open minds, and a disciplined work ethic. To bring the future to Honda as a Payroll Manager, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 8 years of Payroll experience
  • 5 years of leadership experience
  • Advanced knowledge of time collection (Kronos preferred)
  • A Certified Payroll Professional Certification (preferred)
  • Experience with in-house, large multi-state payroll processing (preferred)
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll operations and marketplace best practices
  • Understanding of Core HR systems (SAP Success Factors preferred),
  • Experience with Mainframe systems
  • An understanding of Accounting practices including funding and taxes
  • Understanding of Federal, State & Local laws to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Ability to set strategic direction, manage daily operations and drive innovation
  • Ability to build trust, work collaboratively and manage relationships
  • Ability to lead and support large projects and business initiatives
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Office / Advanced Excel
