General Summary:  

The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for driving value and leading the procurement team through complex sourcing and contracting projects that support critical milestones. Reporting to the Division Director of Supply Chain, this candidate will act as the central sourcing interface with engineering and procurement teams. They will ensure integration and execution of best-in-class supplier engagement processes.

This leader will achieve business results with a small focused team of supply chain professionals while balancing multiple strategic business priorities through a broad set of sourcing and procurement activities. Crucial ton this position is the responsibility of identifying opportunities and developing long-term strategies.

 Core Responsibilities

  • Work with a broad range of management levels ranging from individual contributors to Executive Leadership Team. Navigate complex projects to completion while managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Work with core supply chain management teams on sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk analysis and capacity management
  • Lead the development, modification, and negotiation of various types of agreements for the purchase of goods and services.
  • Strong business and legal acumen with ability to manage high-value, high-complexity SOWs, RFx’s, and contracts with minimal direction.

  Additional Responsibilities

  • Support the development and oversee implementation of the Strategic Sourcing initiatives that enable short and long term Business Unit Objectives to be achieved.
    • New Product Development / Design Change Management
    • Proposal Management (RFI, RFP), Cost Analysis, and Supplier Selection
    • Negotiation of Complex Purchase and Product Support Agreements
  • Provide direct management and oversight of tactical activities associated with assigned Aircraft Systems, Commodities, Services, or General Procurement Functions.
    • Analyze business metrics to evaluate Supplier Performance, Supply Chain Efficiency, Product Quality and overall Cost Effectiveness of sourcing activities
    • Develop and implement corrective action plans to resolve product quality, performance, delivery and cost related issues

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

  • Master’s Degree Required in Business Administration/Supply Chain/Engineering or related field
  • 10 to 15 years combined experience in any of the following areas: 
    • Supply Chain, Manufacturing Planning or Logistics Management
    • Design, Manufacturing, Quality, or Operations Engineering 
    • New Product Development, and/or Project Management
  • 5 years’ experience within aerospace industry, preferred 
  • Formal Project Management or Process Improvement experience, preferred
  • MRP/ERP system experience and proficiency, SAP preferred 
  • Supply Chain and/or Project Management Certification, preferred
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CPCS) 
    • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working understanding of Material Planning and Order Management systems Possess knowledge and understanding of Inventory Management Methodologies such as Vendor Managed, Consignment and Supplier Owned inventory
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate Commercial Agreements, Business Terms and Conditions, as well as Strategic Risk Mitigation/Sharing Initiatives
  • Experience leading and influencing cross functional teams to achieve company objectives
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal/ written) and present information to a broad audience, including internal and external Senior Level Management
  • Familiarity with FAA, FAR, TSA, and ITAR/EAR requirements and procedures.
