Houston Hospice utilizes a team-oriented approach to medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support that is tailored to each patient’s unique situation. We believe no one should live in pain or in fear of being alone. We also advocate for children’s rights to have their lives celebrated as full and complete.      

The ideal candidate would be responsible for performing detailed psychosocial assessments and social work support services to both Pediatric and Adult patients, and thier families.

Job Requirements

Field Hospice Social Worker (FT Position Available!)

  • Social Work degree from school of social work accredited or approved by the Council on Social Work Education; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Licensed by the State of Texas to practice Social Work.

  • Minimum one-year experience in health care field preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Excellent organizational skills to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to accommodate multi-faith beliefs and cultural backgrounds of patients/families.

  • Ability to function as part of interdisciplinary team.

Teams work with primary care physicians, patients and families to identify goals and create a unique plan of care for each patient. We offer educated counsel and compassionate support and bereavement counseling to loved ones and family members.
