Overview

Performs, tracks and assists Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all general and preventive maintenance of production equipment, facility maintenance, and safety responsibilities in an industrial manufacturing plant.

The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled preventative and general maintenance on all manufacturing systems including hydraulic presses, metal forming equipment, and various support equipment. Repair heavy industrial equipment and motors/drives
  • Troubleshoot electrical controls/systems related to motors and motor controls, VFD’s, PLC’s, sensor and switch circuitry, and other types of equipment control circuits.
  • Comprehend complex industrial electronic controls, electrical schematics, ladder logic, electrical drawings and blue prints.
  • Dismantle and assemble electro-mechanical machinery and allied equipment of most types; repairing cleaning and replacing parts.
  • Install and repair electrical conduit and cable, including connections, controls, grounding, etc.
  • Performs facility maintenance when necessary.
  • Keep a clean and organized work area.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Competencies/Skills

•    Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls/systems related to motors and motor controls, VFD’s, PLC’s, sensor and switch circuitry, and other types of equipment control circuits.

•    Extensive working knowledge and understanding of three-phase 240/480 electricity and circuitry.

•    Strong ability to comprehend and explain complex industrial electronic controls, electrical schematics, ladder logic, electrical drawings and blue prints.

•    Ability to perform mechanical maintenance related to repairing heavy industrial equipment, replacing motors/drives and maintaining PM’s on all major equipment

•   Familiar with operations and repairs related to hydraulic systems including maintaining and PM on hyd. pumps, cylinders, and associated piping system.

•   Familiar with operations and repairs related to pneumatic systems including maintaining and PM on air compressors and pneumatic system.

•   Metal fabrication and welding skills.

•   Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates and vendors.

•   Must have good verbal, written and organizational skills; quick to learn and apply new concepts.

•   Must be self-motivated and self -directed--able to work independently with a 'production first' attitude.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D 
  • 4+ years Industrial/Electrical Maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of three-phase 240/480 electricity and circuitry.
  • Fabrication and welding experience a plus
  • Good verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
