Miller Electric, an ITW company, has an exciting opportunity for a self-driven and innovative Logistics Coordinator to join our talented team! Since our inception in 1929 in Appleton, WI we've been a trusted leader in the manufacturing of welding equipment and accessories. In 1993, we were purchased by ITW, making us part of a $15-billion-dollar global company.

Responsibilities for this role include day-to-day management and coordination of warehouse functions, ensuring cost effectiveness and timely management of carriage and warehousing by using approved vendors for LIL and TL freight. Additionally, working closely with ITW Logistics Council, and international Sales to ensure company requirements are being executed properly.

KEY FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE:

  • Receive and sign for shipments and ensure both quality and quantity of delivery
  • Trace, track and expedite purchase orders
  • Provide customer service with freight quotes and transit time options
  • Respond to Freight carrier's with disposition on damaged or refused freight
  • Create and maintain contact with vendors and customers to ensure timely delivery of product
  • Interact with third party logistics service providers for truckload rates and delivery options for large orders
  • Update ship via codes for supplier routings; work with Divisional Materials teams
  • Review bills, invoices and purchase orders and code exceptions to correct Division
  • File claims with LTL, TL, Small Parcel and ensure timely payment
  • Ensure all payments are processed in time and allocated to correct division
  • Review coding rules regularly with Audit company, ITW, International and Logistics
  • Work with audit company on cost, quality, and delivery
  • Maintain communication with warehouse staff and provide technical assistance and mentorship
  • Assist customers and customer service with freight/RGA inquiries

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:

  • Bachelor Degree in Operations/Supply Chain/Business Management/Business Analytics
  • 3+ years of logistics management/customer service experience
  • Knowledge of best practices in the distribution/warehousing functions
  • Empathetic and self-driven with the ability to work with limited direction

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and collaborate across organizational lines
