The Elgin location is responsible for successful product delivery to all of Shakeproof Automotive’s OEM and Tier/ Distribution customers. 

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor responsible for driving and implementing sustainable scheduling, manufacturing, training, and talent development processes.

  • Promote a safety conscious culture emphasizing Company compliance with OSHA requirements, through participation in root cause analysis activities.
  • Primary responsibilities include developing and ensuring conformity of manufacturing schedules according to customer demand with emphasis on minimizing premium freight and obsolete inventories.
  • Implement and sustain corrective actions to continuously drive an accident free workplace. 
  • Continuous production improvements maximizing daily resource availability to achieve delivery and performance KPI’s.
  • Assist segment leaders in analyzing downtime data, developing and implementing continuous improvement processes to reduce downtime.
  • Manage staffing resources to achieve daily production requirements across all manufacturing processes.
  • Drive adherence and improvement of work instructions to improve manufacturing practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring orders are produced within required time frame while maximizing production efficiencies.
  • Develop production floor talent by cross training, developing talent pipeline, and completing annual performance reviews.
  •  Manage employee time keeping while adhering to Company’s attendance policy.
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement activities through effective root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Ability to perform tasks and projects utilizing lean manufacturing practices.
  • Lead effective communication between manufacturing personnel.
  • Enhance a culture of accountability while emphasizing ITW values.
  • Embrace ITW tool box to improve efficiencies and build 80/20 culture.
  • Lead Departmental Employee performance assessment process while developing plans for employee growth and improvement.
  • Other responsibilities as needed
  • High school diploma, or GED required, Associates, or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4+ years operations experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Cold forming/Metal working experience is strongly preferred.
  • Prior Leadership and/or Supervisory experience required.
  • Preferred experience working in Automotive background.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work as part of a fast-paced, shared risk, positive culture team.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Basic mathematical ability required.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to manage through change.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, SharePoint etc.
