Job Description


The Solutions Architect is an innovative strategy leader in our IT organization with a strong understanding of process manufacturing, and high-volume sales and distribution systems with the ability to apply that knowledge to develop solutions for business challenges. We are looking for a driven, self-starter with excellent leadership and project management skills. A qualified candidate can effectively translate organizational needs into strategic opportunities, while understanding the effect on a growing global organization. Responsibilities will include deep assessments into technical challenges, evaluating new technologies, and defining technical standards. This individual will manage the planning and implementation of projects ensuring policies and procedures are consistent with company goals, best practices, software compliance, and regulatory requirements.


  • Implement solutions for high volume, high accuracy warehousing and shipping operations in multiple warehouse locations
  • Understanding of supply chain, process manufacturing and inventory management
  • Industry best practice expertise with an understanding of databases, application services, communication infrastructure, data integration and architecture patterns
  • Work with vendors and service providers as a liaison for the technical team to select the services and products that meet company requirements
  • Provide application development guidance and specifications to team members
  • Establish and maintain an effective system of communications throughout the organization
  • Determine project schedules and effectively manage the allocation of resources to achieve project objectives
  • Ability to translate technical language into non-technical understanding
  • Work closely with our user community and IT professionals to build consensus and standards that are scalable, adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of a changing business landscape
  • Create and manage project budgets, resources, establish project milestones and timelines
  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to end-user requests, questions, and problems
  • Comply with SOX audit requirements and execute change management best practices
  • Drive to keep current with evolving technology and apply it to future strategic objectives
  • Ability to deliver solutions with industry leading security and efficiencies that aligns with the Enterprise Agenda
  • Act as indirect supervisor for local ITS staff
  • Experience with agile project management methodologies and Application Life Cycle Management (ALM)

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT technical, or related field
  • 5+ years’ relevant high volume sales and distribution system experience (250+ shipments/day)
  • 10+ years of experience working in a large, multi-regional, corporate IT environment
  • Experience implementing cloud solutions is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong customer support orientation
  • Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

Additional Considerations:

Up to 25% travel is required as it will be supporting many locations in the upper mid-west
