ITW Shakeproof has an opening for a Strategic Sourcing Analyst at our Elgin facility. ITW Shakeproof Automotive serves all the major Automotive OEMs and their tier suppliers with metal fasteners totaling approximately $170M in revenues. Our major plants are in Elgin IL, Machesney Park, IL, Elk Grove Village, IL, Darlington WI, and Bedford Heights, OH. Our Sales Center is in Troy, MI.

Job Description:

The qualified Strategic Sourcing Analyst should be collaborator who has an affinity for building relationships, forecasting, creating and analyzing reports and has general procurement knowledge. The Strategic Sourcing Analyst provides critical support to the Shakeproof Automotive Team and delivers cross-segment sourcing strategies to the larger Automotive segment. The Analyst will play a role in supporting projects, providing support for sourcing events and crossing supplier bases.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze existing internal and external data to communicate anomalies and opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Provide comprehensive analysis to support strategic sourcing solutions.
  • Research quality, prices, timing and reliability of supply.
  • Maintain and enhance contacts with suppliers to develop awareness of promotional campaigns, deals, and other cost-sensitive opportunities.
  • Negotiate prices and delivery conditions; commit to purchases within established limits of authority, with terms that are in the best interest of the Organization.
  • Monitor quality and timely delivery of materials and conduct follow-up with customers and purchase orders that require attention.
  • Interpret inventory requests, production schedules, purchase requisitions, orders and other documents to coordinate purchasing activities with the organization’s current and anticipated demand for goods and materials.
  • Analyze tooling and materials to find ways to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Provide cross-functional support by completing special assignments, perform data analysis and provide historical and future material data.
  • Utilize ITW Toolbox to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
  • Become an expert in the ITW Toolbox and proficient at conducting continuous improvement activities to improve sourcing processes.
  • Communicate with various functional teams within the facility, as well as at the warehouse to provide up to date information and resolve production processing issues.
  • Analyze metrics to identify data trends and make strategic recommendations for continuous improvement of sourcing processes.
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Development Manager to ensure suppliers are meeting requirements of services, costs, and quality.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field related to strategic sourcing.
  • Minimum one year of experience in procurement or purchasing.
  • Manufacturing background preferred.
  • Highly analytical with proven success utilizing critical problem-solving skills and prioritization.
  • Computer Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and make critical business decisions based on established metrics.
