Position Summary

IT Vendor Management is aimed at providing meaningful work and experience to our Interns. We expect this summer Internship Program to give you marketable experiences and skills, as well as introduce you to ITW’s unique way of doing business. 

As an IT intern you will be working at our corporate campus in Glenview, IL; one of Chicago’s northern suburbs. The office is one block walk to the nearest Metra station, and it is a quick 20-minute train ride to downtown Chicago, museums, lakefront, and activities. Our campus includes a fitness center at no cost to employees or interns, cafeteria, outdoor volleyball courts, walking trails around the campus, employee resource groups, corporate discounts, dry cleaning services, covered/outdoor parking, and much more. 

What You Will Do

A typical day during the internship in IT Vendor Management might include:

  • Working with an IT stakeholder at one of the ITW Divisions to research an inquiry related to a preferred vendor or program.
  • Improving or updating content within SharePoint by gathering requirements from the incumbent vendor to customize their page.
  • Operating in the role of a facilitator. Organizing, coordinating, and scheduling global webinars with external and internal attendees for training, program updates and launches, and vendor demonstrations.
  • Supporting Vendor Management Analyst by gathering and analyzing vendor spend data and tracking performance.
  • Helping drive SharePoint visits through promotion of programs and posting of announcements and articles to the News page.

What We Are Looking For

  • Undergraduate currently enrolled in a degree program with a focus on business, strategic sourcing, program management, or Information Technology Management.
  • A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is required.
  • Possesses customer-focused skills to assist stakeholders with inquiries and resolutions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborates well in both one-on-one and teamwork settings.
  • Proficient in using software applications: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
