The Global Product Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects, act as a project leader as well as the liaison with the regional businesses.

Responsible for leading customer back research through all stages of assigned GTU projects.

ITW Construction provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for the commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. With products manufactured at locations around the globe serving markets in North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

The Global Tool Unit (GTU) is a part of ITW’s Construction Segment. The GTU innovates, develops, and manufactures best-in-class Power Fastening Systems for the global construction market.  Our highly differentiated tools are specified to be used in a variety of applications including wood framing, wood trim, and steel to concrete installations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Champions and manages new product development projects to ensure successful execution of key deliverables.
  • Prepares business plans, financial analysis and market requirement documentation for new product development projects that are aligned with strategies globally.
  • Ensures projects stay within budget and launch on-time.
  • Develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with the operating divisions to develop, define and implement key product strategies and roadmaps (e.g. product roadmap for Pneumatic Tools, leadership of FTB activities, etc.). Manages product lifecycle.
  • Monitors ongoing product performance and customer satisfaction and drives continuous product improvement process both internally and externally.
  • Understand competitive landscape in all construction platforms.
  • Works with Marketing Manager to develop and execute strategic marketing plans.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with emphasis in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or Marketing/Business.
  • Progressive marketing & product management experience across a large, multi-location global business preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in global project management; strong communication & influencing skills.
  • 7+ years of increasing responsibility managing global research & project management.
  • Track record of success leading projects through all phases of a stage-gate process 
  • Strong influence skills and demonstrated ability to successfully build productive relationships with leaders across geographically dispersed businesses.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Up to 25% travel, both domestic and international.
