Alpine is seeking a Software Portfolio Manager to develop and maintain the product vision and strategy for Alpine’s software portfolio.

In Alpine’s Agile software development environment, the Software Portfolio Manager is the product portfolio’s key decision maker and is responsible for communicating that vision and strategy with key stakeholders and product sponsors. In this role you will lead and develop a team of Product Owners to build, own, and manage a product roadmap of prioritized capabilities and market opportunities. The role is responsible for communicating and updating both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on business themes and coordinate product development at a high level. The Software Portfolio Manager is the key driver on product direction and ensures that the product team is working towards a common goal by elaborating on vision, strategy, product features, and market opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain product vision and strategy for Alpine’s software portfolio based on market opportunities, industry trends, and competitive intelligence
  • Lead and develop a team of product owners to build, own and manage a product roadmap of prioritized product capabilities and market opportunities
  • Provide leadership support to development teams by supporting resolution of impediments and potential roadblocks
  • Collaborate with functional leaders from Software Development, Sales, Support, and Engineering to facilitate difficult business decisions and align product strategy with business goals
  • Ongoing definition and clarification of business themes, features, and epics as part of overall product strategy
  • Coordinate the splitting of business themes and features with technical leaders and product owners to align product and technical strategies
  • Provide leadership support to the development teams to ensure they understand the vision for the product portfolio and are designing great features for our customers
  • Act as an ambassador for the product portfolio internally and externally, and as the primary technical contact for queries related to product strategy and vision

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or a comparable discipline; an MBA is a plus
  • Agile or Scrum certification required (CSM, CSPO)
  • 6+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Software portfolio and product strategy experience with demonstrated value delivery
  • Experience with complex customer environments and/or relevant industry experience
  • Experience leading software product development in an Agile environment leveraging frameworks such as Scrum and SAFe
  • Strong team/project management, effective executive and stakeholder communication, persuasion and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, energetic and can work both autonomously and as part of the team
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
  • 20% travel
