Paslode, an ITW company, currently has an opening for a Maintenance Machinist/Fabricator for 1st shift in its Pocahontas, AR facility to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines. Provide machining, tooling and fabrication support for plant and production operations. Provide maintenance support, improvement, modification and rebuild services at the local facility.  Support cost savings initiatives, process improvement and efficiency gain.

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machining centers to provide needed tooling.
  • Program mills and lathes by entering instructions.
  • Produce tools, jigs and fixtures from raw material. Repair and maintain tools, jigs and fixtures. Calibrate fixtures and instruments as needed.
  • Make precision replacement parts and repair shop tools and equipment.  Identify defective machine tools. Produce parts from raw material according to drawings and prints. Design basic tooling where required.
  • Inspect all incoming tooling from outside vendors to ensure that the tooling meets specifications and matches tooling prints.
  • Inspect all incoming/outsource nails from outside vendors who provide heat treating and galvanizing of product.


  • Associate Degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to operate assigned equipment (conventional and CNC machine) and read/understand operating instructions
  • Ability to interpret complex instructions, sketches, blueprints and codes.
  • High degree of precision required in all areas of work. Related licenses/certifications are a plus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
