The Residential and Renovation division of ITW’s Construction Products Segment, is currently looking for a talented National Account Manager to oversee our Mechanical Fastening category at our largest customer, The Home Depot.

This National Account Manager for Mechanical Fastening with THD retains the highest level of revenue accountability within our Home Center Sales organization. The role is critical not only to the fundamental results and health of our division, but also to the relationship and success pattern with our most critical customer.

The NAM for THD Mechanical Fastening spends their days navigating and improving outcomes with a tough and influential customer that partners with us to mutually shape beneficial futures. A Challenger Sales mindset with focus not on a product-based sale, but a creating systematic customer traction and influence that leads to incremental growth is necessary to thrive in this role. 

This role works with immediate responsiveness and decisiveness with regard to the mechanical fastening category at THD and how our products are represented there. Daily activities of this role may include:

  1. Facilitating pricing decisions
  2. Negotiating for additional product representation/shelf space
  3. Determining appropriate pro programs in partnership with THD
  4. Coordinating the set and display standards via our Marketing Specialist and our Field Sales team

This role leads a talented team that represents the Mechanical Fastening category to THD. A Key Account Manager and Marketing Specialist complete the NAM’s team to ensure flawless coverage and cultivation of this Super80 account.  The NAM candidate must be dedicated to the development and engagement not only to their own direct reports, but also the Field Sales associates that are heavily influenced by this NAM role.  Candidates not interested in becoming their best from the standpoint of leadership need not apply. 

The critical top three objectives of this role over the first twelve months are as follows:

1) Driving Organic Growth – executing mechanical fastening growth strategies to achieve 2019 revenue targets and development of 2020 Annual Plan.

2) Sales Organization Effectiveness – Utilizing ITW’s Enterprise Strategy to support internal management of initiatives and strategies working cross functionally with marketing, operations, finance and customer service to ensure goals are met and executed.

3) Relationship Building with The Home Depot Merchant and his team to help drive and coordinate alignment of initiatives / growth strategies of ITW’s product portfolio.

The National Account Manager role requires a Bachelor’s Degree, a minimum of five years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Development or adjacent field, and minimum of two years of experience in managing professional level staff. Familiarity with retail sales transactions at this level is extremely valuable in consideration for this role.  This role will require travel up to 50% of the time, to visit our customers and sales personnel in the field.
