Job Description

A commercial orientated Project Manager with experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering is required to lead and manage all warranty claims received from JDR’s customers for both Renewables and Oil & Gas projects. Delivery focussed with a drive for achievement you will protect and mitigate the associated commercial risks wherever possible, keeping costs to JDR to their lowest level and provide timely responses to support JDR’s customers.

Reporting to the Projects Director your main responsibilities will be:

  • Acquiring in depth knowledge of project contract scopes and contractual obligations in order to manage warranty claims effectively.
  • Organising and planning warranty claims including management of costs, contractual exposure and preparation of internal and external reports to ensure warranty claims are managed effectively.
  • Taking full leadership of all warranty contractual and commercial matters, liaising with Warranty Team members and other departments as required, to protect and mitigate the associated commercial risks to JDR wherever possible.
  • Managing and delegating work to relevant functions accordingly to ensure timely and effective support to the warranty management process.
  • Liaising fully with all appropriate departments to ensure timely output of information to support the warranty management process. Maintaining contract warranty files, orderly and chronologically.
  • Providing regular reports to the Projects Director on JDR liabilities, the potential financial risks and general status of each warranty issue in a format suitable for onward presentation to the wider JDR Executive Team and JDR Board.
  • Providing lessons learned analysis and feedback to relevant departments to assist and support the embedding of continuous improvement for future projects.
  • Providing input and advice into contractual obligations for new projects and input to Supply Chain department for suppliers to improve and enhance contractual position with customers and suppliers.
  • Management of staff assigned to their team to ensure warranty requirements are met.

Job Requirements

An analytic thinker combined with effective communication, influencing and negotiation skills you will formulate and maintain good working relationships with customers to support the warranty management process.

 

With a proven track record of good time-management and the ability to prioritise work you will ensure all the project requirements are met on time and competing priorities are managed effectively.

 

With energy industry and project management experience being a must commercial leadership and liaison with customers is required as part of this fantastic project management opportunity, including the day to day management of personnel assigned to the Warranty Team, such as Engineers, Legal and QA support.
