Job Description

Our Oil and Gas product group are seeking a Technical Sales Manager to provide technical support to the sales team in liaison with the client to influence their requirements and to ensure that JDR provides a technical offer in line with industry guidelines and client needs.

As the successful candidate you will have strong technical knowledge of oil and gas offshore products including subsea production umbilicals, cables and IWOCS with excellent communication skills to enable discussions with stakeholders internally and externally.

Reporting to the Global Sales Director, Oil and Gas main responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership for client meetings and discussions to make sure all requirements are fully understood so that a better technical design can be offered to the client.
  • Final reviewing and acceptance of JDR’s technical offer to ensure all client specific needs are met and highlighted to allow for our offer to be well received by the client.
  • Attending and contributing at key internal meetings to ensure the business is aware of the technical requirements of clients so that the individual departments can allocate appropriate resource to manage the workflow.
  • Providing accurate market level assessments to maintain a clear understanding of key product advancement needs
  • Developing Key Account technology initiatives in order that JDR has the highest possibility of achieving purchase order awards for the project needs within Europe
  • Creating clear and concise instruction to various departments so that technically accurate and winning bids can be written
  • Coordinating the technical sales activities in liaison with line manager and peers to ensure client’s requirements are met
  • Providing information of competitor capabilities and capacities so that JDR can react and be better prepared in our product development plans and client presentations


Job Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity you will ideally be in a commercial or technical role with a passion for Customer Focus and Quality & Innovation. There will be extensive travel with this role so the ability to travel at a moment’s notice is a must. With strong communication and influencing skills you be JDR’s technical lead at exhibitions and conferences providing technical guidance to clients.

An engineering or commercial degree with a basic level of understanding of related tasks including installations is highly desirable.
