Job Description

KVC Hospitals gives people the hope and help they need to prevent suicide and other mental health crisis. We are opening a new children's psychiatric hospital in Wichita for children ages 6 to 18, and are seeking a dynamic self-starter for our Director of Nursing.  Our DON provides effective overall management of the nursing and program services, and coordinates with all other disciplines to provide the highest quality of care.  The Director of Nursing is also responsible for the maintenance of quality improvement activities to adhere to regulations and standards provided by The Joint Commission, regional licensing bodies and KVC’s policies and procedures.

Education Requirements: Master of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled in a master’s program with applicable experience.

Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Registered nursing in the State of Kansas. ANCC Certification for Psychiatric Nursing preferred. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Experience/Skills: At least 3 years of prior supervisory experience required. More than two years of experience supervising registered nurses providing psychiatric patient care preferred. Experience utilizing electronic medical administration records and health records.

Salary range starts at $80,000 depending on experience. KVC offers a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, a retirement plan, and generous PTO.
