Job Summary:

Provide Help Desk support for La Rabida employees and all other authorized system users. Monitor and react to alerts on all network servers and certain applications. Assist with maintaining third party software and peripheral maintenance. Responsible for various backups and off-site backup media storage. Assist with documentation of departmental procedures and project work.


  • Answer and respond to Help Desk calls and email requests in a timely manner.
  • Log all calls and email using problem tracking software

  • Develop and implement solutions for system processing efficiency improvement.
  • Resolve problems within scope of knowledge and authority
  • Monitor problem tracking software to ensure calls are up updated and closed in a timely manner.
  • Identify, isolate and define network / system environment issues and recommend solutions.
  • Provide technical support and train users on all systems.
  • Support for Internal/Remote users and off site locations.
  • Provide proper follow-up to problem resolution and result satisfaction.
  • Provide monthly status and statistical reports.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.

  • Administration and support of user’s devices including, but not limited to Desktop, Notebooks, Tablets and Handhelds.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for the maintenance and support of end user devices
  • Maintains workstation functionality (e.g. install patches and / or upgrades) for the purpose of ensuring availably of desktop and server functionality for all users.
  • Performs initial workstation computer, peripheral set-ups (e.g. installation, testing, configuring, etc.) for the purpose of meeting the system/computer processing needs of users.
  • Monitor backup systems and connectivity of offsite to support disaster recovery.
  • Stocks computer parts, supplies and materials for the purpose of establishing an inventory of items commonly required to repair computer / system hardware.

  • Under the guidance of the Network Administrator, assist with various projects re: switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, internet access and use, security, cabling, and related technologies.
  • Under the guidance of the Server Administrator, assist with various projects re: server hardware, OS, virtualization, storage, communication, and related technologies and applications.
  • Assist in implementation and monitor tools, technologies, and procedures to automate and improve the end-user support process.

Job Requirements

What we need from you:

  • Associates Degree in IT related field of study or equivalent experience required.   
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  
  • Strong understanding of PC's required
  • Willingness to learn new technologies required.  
  • Experience as a Help Desk Operator, PC Repair Technician, PC Support Specialist required.
  • Experience in computer hardware, software, operations, peripherals, problem determination and troubleshooting required.
  • Knowledge of server environments (hardware and/or software) preferred. 
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills required.
  • MEDITECH experience preferred.  
  • Certifications in IT field preferred.
