Job Description

Responsible for applying powder coatings to various products. Oversee the automated processes of the paint line. Includes acting as a lead for loading and unloading operation.

Primary responsibilities:

• Operate automated powder coating system.

• Able to set-up and monitor powder booths, add powder when needed.

• Position automatic spray guns; adjust nozzles on the spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray.

• Troubleshoot issues with spray guns and pumps.

• Regularly perform a quality check of pretreated and painted parts. 

• Use spray gun to apply touch-ups.

• Regulate the temperature in dry and cure ovens.

• Clean powder booths, hoppers and general area when necessary.

• Perform powder booth color changeovers.

• Oversee pre-treatment system.

• Record production counts and watch over loading and unloading.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to understand and apply basic directions with regard to safety procedures, quality standards, production goals, and company rules, regulations and processes.

• Must be capable of using hand tools and have ability to operate machinery in routine and non-routine, and complex and non-complex environments.  

• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity a must.  

• Operate within SOP’S (Standard Operating Procedures) and maintain a clean and safe work area.

• Must be able to obtain a forklift certification

• Maintains proper inventory of tooling and equipment.   

• Must be capable of maintaining a good attendance record.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, for example, but not limited to; 

o Ensuring basic quality standards are met;

o Reworking/repairing product;

o Other tasks as assigned.
